The city of Toulouse has gone to great lengths to offer its inhabitants and visitors a quality of life worthy of this great southern metropolis. A large part of its city center has been transformed into a pedestrian zone for the comfort of its users. Clean public transport is promoted and serves the city well. Everything is done so that you can have a pleasant time shopping, in complete peace of mind. Small independent shops and big brands have found their place there, from the trendiest to the most authentic... Here is an overview of the commercial areas of the city center:

  • The district around Place du Capitole: A temple of young, trendy and multicultural ready-to-wear. The university in its heart makes it a student district, with a great social mix. This young and dynamic clientele attracts fashion boutiques, but also cultural ones. Bookstores and games stores abound there.
  • The Saint Georges district: Friendly and warm! In rue Puis Clos and rue de la Pomme, you will mainly see independent shops of all kinds. From local food stores to jewelry, there is everything you need and want!

“Made in Toulouse” products: local crafts and regional specialties

The Toulouse region has managed to preserve its traditional know-how and local craftsmanship. Many shops of creators, craftsmen and producers are at your disposal. You can discover these ancient trades, appreciate the works of artists and taste local products and regional specialties.

  • La Maison de la Violette: This shop on a barge is very original and highlights the traditional cultivation of violets in the Toulouse region. Meet on the Canal du Midi, at Boulevard Bonrepos.
  • The treasures of violets: Rue de la Pomme, you will find delicacies, care boxes, scents, decoration and small gifts... in a cocooning atmosphere that makes you want to take care of yourself!
  • Violets and Pastels: In addition to the traditional sweetness of violets, this very cozy place, near the Place du Capitole, offers you another emblematic Lauragais product, pastel blue. This dye was probably imported by the Moors in the 12th century and contributed to the economic development of Ariège.
  • Papillotes and berlingots: In the Esquirol district, this confectionery will make you taste the flavors of yesteryear: caramels, berlingots, nougats, liquorice and calissons... A regressive and gourmet journey through time awaits you.
  • This & that: It is a delicatessen of local and organic products , with a “Zero waste” approach which sells products in bulk or on deposit. Another of our favorites to discover.
  • Pompon sur la Garonne: In this trendy and audacious shop, you can stand out thanks to personalized clothing and objects with typical Toulouse expressions. It is located rue du Puis Clos.
  • From Toulouse With Love: In the Saint Georges shopping center, here is another clothing and accessories store, with Toulouse accents, but in a different style…
  • The Stade Toulousain: The official store of the Toulouse stadium is a paradise for rugby fans, but also for visitors looking for an original souvenir.
  • Marcel and Jean: Aprons, made in France, authentic and natural, which remind us of the values of our region and our countryside. The store is located on rue Paul Merlin, in the Cartoucherie eco-district.
  • Les Affranchies: This brand represents much more than an original ready-to-wear design. It is a real commitment to the recognition of the role of women in history and in our society.
  • Pierrette and Yvonne: Ethical and modern fashion, from recycled materials and made in France.
  • Fabrica de Bigote: A story of friendship, ethics, charity. That sums up this brand of clothing, with a casual style, with a "travel" theme.
  • Jermaine: A specialist in high-quality, locally made, eco-responsible and organic socks, to take care of your little toes!
  • TSLE: You will find gift ideas there, on the theme of Toulouse and the Midi-Pyrénées region.

And if you are a fan of beautiful objects and like to hunt around, don't miss the flea market in the François-Verdier alleys which takes place the first weekend of each month, from Friday to Sunday.
