Tired of the slopes? Here are 5 unusual, even completely crazy, snow activities!

There's more to life than skiing ! The Pyrenees offer a multitude of winter sports activities, so why not take advantage of them? To help you choose, here's a small selection of the craziest mountain outings : enough to fill your head with icy memories!

1. Practice Ski Joëring

This sport of Scandinavian origin combines board sports and horse-drawn carriages. On the cross-country ski trail at the Guzet resort, you'll be pulled by a horse, skis on your feet. Awesome thrills ! Ideal for nature and animal lovers who enjoy board sports. No minimum level of horse riding is required, but it's recommended to be comfortable on blue slopes to get started.

2. Disconnect with a snowshoe hike and yoga in Saint-Lary

Raise your spirit to the mountaintops and enjoy the tranquility of these peaks to find your inner peace through the practice of yoga and meditation. This is what the Saint-Lary resort offers! The adage “a healthy mind resides in a healthy body” has never been so true!

3. Try your hand at biathlon in the beautiful Beille Nordic ski area

Whatever your skiing level, discover this discipline of military origin combining cross-country skiing and rifle shooting in one of the most beautiful Nordic ski areas in the Pyrenees. You will need to master endurance and skill to experience the pleasure of whitewashing your target !

4. Climb an ice waterfall

"The Gaube Couloir is a fascinating and provocative chimney of snow and ice, open in the north face of the Vignemale, dizzying and 600 meters high" described Henri Brulle. He was the first man to have climbed this gigantic fault located on the north face of the Vignemale massif. Reserved for experienced mountaineers, this spectacular ascent ends with an ice waterfall.

5. Experience osmosis with sled dogs

Located at an altitude of 1,450 meters, a few kilometers from the Peyragudes resort, the “Sherpa” Nordic base offers sled baptisms and initiations to sled driving . Let yourself be guided by the Musher and enjoy the thrills from the basket pulled by 10 to 12 huskies, or take the reins of 4 huskies to become a “ coureur des bois ” in your turn, for a snowy ride.
