The Louron Valley, turned towards pleasure and wonder at every moment

The Louron Valley in the Pays d'Aure has not always been as we know it today. This wild and natural piece of land , where life is strung along 14 typical and bucolic small villages just 20 minutes from Luchon and 30 minutes from Lannemezan , was once the stronghold of the breeders who practiced pastoralism and agriculture there. . A simple life in the fresh air. In the 1970s, elected officials wondered how to energize this region which saw its youth go away, for lack of food activities. A new economic model was then born, based on reasoned tourism and job creation to encourage mountain activities and well-being . The sumptuous Génos-Loudenvielle lake is then created, with a leisure center , which attracts visitors delighted to take advantage of the beauty of the landscape in summer . In 1975 , winter sport slowly revolutionized life in this green setting: the Val Louron resort was created, then the Peyragudes resort in 1988, a merger of two existing resorts: Peyresourde and Les Agudes . A fantastic dynamic is underway, with always in mind to protect this splendid, natural and generous playground .
