Toulouse is full of good regional products , but where do we find these little wonders? At the market, of course ! Between covered markets and open markets , you will easily find something to awaken your five senses every day of the week! Here is a brief overview of the most beautiful markets of Toulouse.

The fantastic Saint Aubin market

It's Sunday morning, you could spend hours lounging under the duvet, but you would miss a legendary event for Toulouse; the Saint Aubin market.

Come on, grab your nicest basket, get on your bike, and get on the road for your little races of the week !

As you can imagine, everything is happening in the district of Saint Aubin, east of the historic center, well known to Toulouse for its cosmopolitan and popular yet well preserved.

The market is spread all around the imposing church of Saint Aubin , and is organized as follows:

  • to the right of the church, there are all the local producers , and often organic , or reconversion : to you the seasonal fruits and vegetables full of color, the cheese stalls full of flavor, and the big breads full of softness!
  • on the left, it is the corner of the primeurs , the craftsmen , or the creators . Saint Aubin, it is also the rendezvous of booksellers ; notice to the papivores!

And why not have lunch on the spot ?

All continents are represented: Indian specialties to Moroccan delights, through the empanadas Argentine , African or Italian caterers . Your taste buds will go around the world! Once your feast is in hand, sit comfortably at a café terrace , and listen to one of the many street concerts that take place there. There, you are fully imbued with this bohemian atmosphere so appreciated by the Toulouse ...

The producers' market in the Monplaisir garden

Still quite unknown , it is probably the most charming of the city. Located in an Eden on the edge of the Canal du Midi , this small associative market was born 3 years ago.

Here, we favor quality over quantity. Indeed, there are ten exhibitors at most, but beware, everything is organic, local and seasonal !

You will easily find something to treat your Epicureanism; Wood-fired bread , yogurts and farm cheeses , Nature and Progress vegetables , Breton crepes or home-made samosas are just some of the delicacies you'll find on the premises.

But Monplaisir is more than a market. At the bar, Maryse, one of the initiators of the project will gladly serve you coffee , tea or organic fruit juice , to sip on the terrace . Bernard, the owner of the garden that makes the place available, is never far away, always open to exchange a few words. At the bottom of the market , we see the shared garden , rented for the symbolic sum of 6 euros per month (Attention, places are expensive!)

All these good products have you mouth watering? Why not sit with family or friends around the self-service picnic tables in the garden to taste without waiting the fruit of your purchases, in any conviviality.

The market regularly hosts artists such as storytellers or musicians who come to perfect the bohemian atmosphere of the garden . And you want to know the most unusual ? A therapist offers massages in nature , away from the eyes, in a quiet corner of the garden. Resourcing guaranteed!
