The Capitol of Toulouse, much more than a simple building, is a true witness to the history of the city.

• A place of historical power

Since the 12th century, the Capitol has been the heart of municipal power in Toulouse. Today it houses the town hall , but it was also the seat of the Parliament of Languedoc.

• Remarkable architecture

The current façade, with its eight columns symbolizing the eight original Capitouls, dates from the 18th century. It was designed to unify the different buildings that make up the Capitol.

Inside, the richly decorated rooms bear witness to the city's history and power. Among the most notable are the Salle des Illustres and the Salle des Pas Perdus.
