    • In Esquièze-Sère, a stone's throw from Luz-Saint-Sauveur, in the heart of Pays Toy in the Pyrenees National Park, La Carde opens its doors wide to you. You will be able to discover a unique know-how in the manufacture of articles in Pyrenees wool, 100% Pays Toy.

In Pays Toy, livestock farming is a tradition. Sheep have always been a pillar of local agriculture. For as long as anyone can remember, this small area has been a land of weavers.

Thus, as early as 1891, Joseph Cazenave and his wife Marie, great-great-grandfathers of the last generation of Lafonds , were already trading in yarn and working on custom wool spinning.

Their son Louis and his wife Catherine followed in their footsteps and created La Carde. Their own daughter, Marie, married Marcel Lafond: entrepreneurs at heart, together they introduced the work of Pyrenean fabric and the weaving of blankets. A business that Louis, their son, and his wife Martine took over in the 80s.

Today, it is their turn to pass the torch to their children, Aude and Damien, who intend to keep this company going as a tribute to those who worked hard and built for them.

La Carde, a manufacturer of blankets, plaids, quilts and woolen items from the Pyrenees, is a family business. Since 1891, five generations have passed on the torch of what has remained an artisanal business and become Maison Lafond.

Thanks to the wool socks purchased in your store (along with other good quality products) I am having an exceptional winter in great shape. My weakness was cold feet (I work in open fields and cold rooms) with repeated bouts of flu, but your socks are incredible (warm feet, no sweating..), so thank you and congratulations for this great eco-responsible company.

Hello, first of all we wish you a happy holiday season. We have just received our very well cut 220/240 duvet. A very nice job. Our little sheep are really great for this magnificent wool. What made us buy on this site is that during our treatment I bought a cape for my slightly chilly winter evenings and I am very happy with it. We also met the people of this magnificent place and so genuine in our relationships. They are wonderful people, we met some great people. THANKS! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE PRODUCTS!! Sylvie and Loic :)
