Epicureans, the curious or connoisseurs, meet a distiller in love with his craft. Based in Carla-de-Roquefort, 25 minutes from Foix, La Distillerie du Sud offers top-of-the-range products to be enjoyed at any time of year. Gin, vodka or brandy, treat yourself to products carefully crafted by Steve, a producer who values his terroir through distilled spirits.

In 2013, Steve moved into an old apple farm, the largest estate in the town, which would become the production site for top-of-the-range gin, vodka and brandy renowned in the region. Distillation is a story of passion. With patience and meticulousness, Steve selects quality raw materials from the estate's vast forest, from local producers or from his greenhouse for botanical plants. The juniper berries come from Pradettes, the Séchuan pepper from Carla-de-Roquefort, and the wine for the Brandy from Château Longpré near Pamiers, to create exceptional products. His work has been rewarded, with "Le Randonneur" gin and "Piste Noire" vodka winning silver medals at the London spirits competition in 2020. Enjoy artisanal distillation in Ariège.

Open every day except Wednesday afternoon, the La Distillerie du Sud boutique is a veritable Ali Baba's cave of distilled products. Start with a guided tour of the estate with Steve, before sampling the delicious beverages on offer. Gin, vodka or brandy, the aromas are fine and delicate, lining the taste buds with gourmand and fruity notes. On weekends, remember to call ahead. La Distillerie du Sud can be found at event markets, gourmet markets and certain night markets in summer. Renowned for their quality, our distilled products can also be found in the region's bars, restaurants, wine cellars and epiceries. It's easy to see why the "Initiative Ariège" and the "Guide de la ferme à Table" are so keen to support this project.
