Angle of view at each street corner in the medieval city of Foix

Foix is the gateway to the Ariège Pyrenees. It is a strategic site, occupied since Gallo-Roman times. Its name refers to its position at the center of a fork formed by the Ariège and Arget rivers. The historic center has retained its medieval structure with its narrow streets and pontils. A guided tour reveals all the secrets and hidden corners of this beautiful medieval city. Attacking the Citadel of Saint-Lizier

Saint-Lizier is a “town of art and history” in Couserans. It was the seat of the bishopric. Today the Palace of the Bishops has been transformed into a museum. Unmissable souvenir photo in one of the "most beautiful villages in France"

Camon is one of the "most beautiful villages in France" for its beautiful medieval heritage and it is the only site in the Ariège which benefits from this honor in the department. It is not for nothing that it is nicknamed the Little Carcassonne of Ariège. He was the witness of the Cathar persecutions and we feel that it is a place which has a soul. You will photograph impressive fortifications, a priory and charming houses, nestled in small alleys. It is located in the Pays d'Olmes, on the banks of the Hers, and benefits from a very pleasant natural environment.

Perspective on the half-timberings of Mirepoix

In the Couserans, Mirepoix has been an important town since the Middle Ages. It is a 14th century Bastide. In addition to its interesting architecture, linger on its central square with its half-timbered houses, perched on wooden galleries. It is the heart of the city, a place of exchange for centuries, where markets and events are still held today.

Enchanting image and water effect in Roquefort-les-Cascades

The petrifying Cascades of Roquefort-les-Cascades are nestled within a lush forest in the Massif du Plantaurel. After a bucolic and romantic walk, you will be surprised by the extent of this tuffière. With a striking size, it will offer you extraordinary photos. Lose yourself a bit in the surroundings… Certain viewpoints are hidden by vegetation, but these jagged limestone sections are not lacking in interest.

Snapshot in the history of the Cathars, at the Château de Montségur

Montségur is a rocky outcrop, inhabited since prehistoric times. However, it is enough to climb to the top, to understand the harshness of life in this strange and enigmatic place. The Château de Montségur has become the emblem of Catharism, because its strategic position and its construction being one with the mountain have enabled it to resist many attacks.
