Église Notre-Dame du Taur Historic Monument in Toulouse

The Notre-Dame du Taur Church is an iconic Catholic religious building in Toulouse. It is located on Rue du Taur, which is one of the streets leading from the Capitole to the Basilica of Saint-Sernin.

History and legend

The church takes its name from the legend of Saint-Sernin, the first bishop of Toulouse, who was martyred in the 3rd century. According to tradition, he was dragged by a bull to the spot where the church stands today.
