    • Bagnères-de-Luchon, often simply called Luchon, is a charming spa town nestled in the heart of the central Pyrenees, in Haute-Garonne. Nicknamed the " Queen of the Pyrenees", it is renowned for its sulfurous springs with therapeutic properties recognized since Roman times. Its Allées d'Étigny, lined with century-old plane trees, are the backbone of the town, bustling with shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Luchon is also a popular mountain destination. It offers privileged access to numerous outdoor activities, both summer and winter. In summer, hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding attract sports enthusiasts. The Superbagnères ski resort, accessible by cable car, offers a varied ski area with breathtaking views in winter.

The town has preserved a rich architectural heritage dating from the Belle Époque, testifying to its golden age as a fashionable spa resort. It features beautiful villas, elegant hotels and the Casino, emblematic of this period.

Luchon is also a starting point for exploring exceptional natural sites such as the Lys Valley, Lake Oô and the Port of Balès. Its friendly atmosphere, its magnificent natural setting and the diversity of its activities make it an attractive destination for families, sports enthusiasts and spa guests.

We came to spend 2 days in Luchon, we found the town quite nice, the ski slopes are rather small but that's not what annoyed me. Being located right in the center, we attended a very noisy demonstration by some town hall employees who found nothing better than cleaning the streets at 7:00 in the morning. As you can imagine, they no longer have brooms but large thermal blowers and sweepers 😡, I don't think these people are overwhelmed with work, they even had to leave after finishing the cleaning, but I think they could postpone this work by a few hours.
