Located in the Hautes-Pyrénées, Barèges is a renowned spa resort and a recognized winter sports resort.
It is a traditional village in the Pyrenees, at 1250 meters above sea level, surrounded by the Pic du Midi and the Col du Tourmalet. Natural environment, protected and preserved, the various plateaus all around are conducive to walks, hikes in the heart of nature and the pleasures of outdoor recreation.
Barèges is also known for its AOC sheep meat and goat wool. Shepherds and their animals are honored in August, during the Festival of Shepherds.
