HÔTEL-DIEU SAINT-JACQUES Historic Monument in Toulouse

 Although referred to as a hotel, it has been a hospital since the 12th century, in a pleasant setting on the banks of the Garonne. Its history is closely linked to that of the Saint-Marie-de-la-Daurade hospital and the Nouvel hospital, which eventually became one, the Hôtel Dieu-Saint-Jacques. Between the 17th and 18th centuries, its many extensions made it the largest hospital in Toulouse, a structure that today houses the CHU administrative center, the European Institute of Telemedicine, as well as the European Research Center for Skin and Epithelial Coatings. It is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
